The Chinese are coming!

Chery A6 CoupeAnyone who remembers how far Hyundai has come since it first entered the US market will note the significance of the growing Chinese car industry. While the Chinese have rightly been accused of, well, copying Western cars, it is only inevitable that they will get better with time, and eventually enter the US market with force.

Case in point, the Chery A6 coupe (yes, Audi might have an issue with that name), seen here testing near the Lotus headquarters in Norfolk, England, getting ready for a European launch. That fact alone means that Lotus' engineering consulting arm, a legendary chassis developer among other things, might have helped engineer the car, which means the car could be really great to drive. We think the car looks great, no doubt because the venerable Italian design house Stile Bertone, where Italian-American Jason Castriota is design director, is reportedly responsible for the design.
