Ford resurrects the Taurus SHO

2010 Ford Taurus SHO

Aahhh….it’s so nice to see Ford making all the right moves of late. There was the updated, 2010 Mustang Shelby GT500 at the LA Auto Show, the profitable year the company had in Europe, and now this: yesterday at the Chicago Auto Show, Ford unveiled the 2010 Ford Taurus SHO.

While the original, cult-classic SHO (which stands for Super High Output) had a magical Yamaha-built V6 that could rev to 8000rpm, the new iteration does with Ford’s twin-turbocharged, 365HP EcoBoost V6. The driveline consists of a SelectShift 6-speed automatic, replete with steering wheel-mounted shifters, and a torque-sensing all-wheel drive system. The base price will be $37,995 and you will be able to buy one starting this summer.

Our first reaction to the pictures is that while it’s a big car, Ford has invested time in incorporating interesting details into the exterior design of the SHO. The new Taurus is a bulky-looking car in general, but it has presence and is light years prettier than that horrible misstep by Ford called the Ford Five Hundred.

Internal pictures are really great. I was searching this type of classic car pictures from very long time.
