Rinspeed creates morphing car

The eccentric Swiss company, known for outlandish concept cars, has done it again with the iChange. Rinspeed claims that the iChange is the first car ever to change its shape in proportion to the number of passengers it is carrying.

When transporting only the driver, the car has a more compact tear-drop shape that allows for maximum aerodynamic efficiency. For more than one passenger, the rear of the car expands at the push of a button in order to create more room.

As you would expect from such an “eco” product, the iChange is a fully-electric vehicle that also features solar cells in the roof and on the sides of the car. It is, by the way, also quite fast: 0-60 in under four second, top speed of 137mph.
