1957 Ferrari Testa Rossa hits record high at auction

Recession? What recession? The sex-on-wheels you see here was sold for 8.2M Euros – or as our currency converter informs us, $11,093,682.12 - at the Leggione e Passione auction in Ferrari’s hometown of Maranello. This slightly more than I paid for mine (slightly larger too, as mine is a 1:18 version) and more than a million Euros dearer than the last record, set by British radio DJ (really? Radio DJ?!) Chris Evans for the Ferrari 250 GT California he bought last year. The original Testa Rossa is one of the most famous cars of all time, dominating the racing world in the late 50's and early 60's. As car geeks know, Testa Rossa or 'Red Head' received its name from the red valve cover of the engine. Aah, those cheeky old days.....

We do not know the identity of the buyer, but that does not prevent us from hitting our record of envy. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go drool/cry.
