American car owners recommend Top 10 cars

It is one thing when editors of car magazines and blogs recommend their favorite cars. These people (yours truly included) are often much more nuanced when it comes to rating a car's positive attributes and more often that not, are biased toward sports or sporty cars. It is another thing entirely when real-world car owners make recommendations based on their own first-hand ownership experiences.

The annual AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards address this very topic. 25,000 owners of new cars purchased between September and December 2008 responded to this year's eight-page questionnaire which covers 48 vehicle attributes. From this comprehensive questionnaire, AutoPacific generated a list of ten cars most recommended by the survey respondents.

Below is the list, in descending order of the percentage of each car model's owners who recommended the car.

1. Infiniti G37 - 95%
2. Hyundai Genesis Sedan - 94%
3. BMW 1-Series - 94%
4. Chevrolet Corvette - 94%
5. Cadillac CTS - 92%
6. Volkswagen Jetta - 92%
7. Toyota Avalon - 92%
8. Acura TL - 92%
9. Toyota Prius - 92%
10. Volkswagen Passat - 92%
