VIDEOS: Five cars we wish we could buy in the US

Road & Track has done a pretty good job of selecting five cars they wish were available for sale in the US. It's a pretty good list so we thought we would reproduce it here. However, we disagree a bit with R&T's ranking:

Road & Track’s ranking:
1)    Nissan GT-R Spec V
2)    Ford Focus RS
3)    Audi TT RS
4)    Aston Martin V12 Vantage
5)    VW Scirocco

rightpedal's ranking:
1)    Nissan GT-R Spec V
2)    Aston Martin V12 Vantage
3)    Ford Focus RS
4)    Audi TT RS
5)    VW Scirocco

Why can’t we get these cars here? It's either that the car company cannot see a solid business case for the car in the US, or that the cars are limited enough in production that it is not worth the companies’ time and money to prepare the cars for our crash or fuel efficiency standards.

Of the five, the Aston seems to have a chance at coming here in 2011. The GT-R Spec V costs nearly $170,000 for just a few more horsepower and better, crisper handling. But $170,000 for a Nissan? The Audi TT RS is reportedly ridiculously good, so ‘tis indeed a wonder why Audi won’t try to bring it here.  The Scirocco? We just don’t have a strong history of buying hatchbacks in this country, which probably spells doom for the awesome Focus RS.

Since we are so nice, we went through the excruciating pain of finding, watching, and sharing video reviews of each of the cars that we found on the intertubes. Have a great weekend!
