VIDEO: Richard Petty Crowning Achievement Ep.1 - History is Made

STP, the famous manufacturer of fuel and oil additives known particularly well in racing circles, has sponsored a three-part series documenting the career of NASCAR legend Richard Lee Petty, better known as The King. Over the next few days, we will be brining you the series right here on rightpedal.

The King, who still radiates old-school racing cool, has the most remarkable record in NASCAR racing history. He won the championship seven times, a feat only matched by the late Dale Earnhardt. Petty won a record 200 times, including seven Daytona 500 wins and an astounding 27-winning streak during the 1967 season (1o of which were consecutive wins).
