Singer creates a 425 hp retro 911

Califronia-based Singer Vehicle Design has re-imagined the air-cooled 911 with the Singer 911. Essentially fusing 40 years of 911 engineering into one special concoction, Singer converts starts with any 1969-89 911 and then proceeds to completely reconstruct the car. The company's own blurb sums it up well:

"The Singer 911 attempts to channel the spirit of the pure and delicate 1964 original, the race-bred chic of the 70's "longhoods", the '80s' bomb-proof solidity, and the power and sophistication of the 964/993 series: a jewel-like form that singularly represents and celebrates the golden air-cooled era of the world ...

Specialist builder Eagle rethinks the classic Jaguar E-Type

It seems like rebuilding classic cars with modern engineering standards is all the rage these days. We loved this Germany-built AC Cobra, and now this: UK-based Jaguar specialists Eagle have rebuilt a 1966 Jaguar E-Type with an aluminum bodyshell and powered it with a Jaguar-based, 4.7L inline six. The beefy-looking Eagle E-Type sits lower than the original classic and features a chopped windscreen.

Performance? 175 mph top speed, 0-60 mph in under five seconds thanks to 300 hpm 340 lb-ft of torque a curb weight of just over a ton.

The Jaguar XK-120 is one of the most 'classic' classic cars of all time, and always included on the list of the world's most beautiful cars. The last thing you would expect is for someone to convert one into a hot-rod. But that is exactly what Jason Len of XK's Unlimited has done to a 1951 XK. Taking 3.8L engine from another classic, the Jaguar E-Type, Len has injected 300 hp into his XK's custom-made and lightened body.

Yes, yes, Jay Leno again....he gets all the cool cars to play with. Here he is again ...

This slightly more than I paid for mine (slightly larger too, as mine is a 1:18 version) and more than a million Euros dearer than the last record, set by British radio DJ (really? Radio DJ?!)
